Everyone has a different idea of what organising involves and what organised looks like, so it’s important to know what you can expect from ShipShape Home organisation services.
The consultation
With all but the smallest organising projects, it’s best to have an in-person consultation, as this allows me to see the space we’ll be working in.
The in-person consultation is half an hour and will involve us:
- discussing the areas of your home or business you would like to work on and your vision for the space
- together working out what steps need to be taken to help you get organised and achieve your goals
- putting together a specific action plan, with an estimated time frame
- booking a date and time to organise the space together
organising & decluttering services
We’ll work together to determine why a space or system isn’t working for you & how best to improve it
We’ll get stuck in and get the space organised. We can either work alongside you the client, or alone. Whatever works best for you.
We typically empty the area we’ll be working on, before evaluating everything that came out of it and determining what’s going back
Often an area of clear floor on my drop cloth, or the dining room table, are a good place to put everything while we sort
If we are working on a category of items rather than a space, I will ask you to bring together all the items from that category eg - all your clothing before we do your wardrobe sort, or all the pieces from a collection before we have a cull of them
I’ll share tips and pointers along the way, to help you with your decluttering decision making

I’ll have questions for you which will help you determine what items are important and what you might be ready & able to let go of
Discard only as much as you want to
I can offer guidance on how best to discard or re-home items, whether it be for sale, donation or rubbish
I will give you the tools you need to recognise the difference between what’s important & what can go and to confidently make discarding decisions in future
digital decluttering
We can take care of getting your documents, photos, emails, desktop, apps, phone settings and back-up & storage systems sorted once & for all!
We can perform this work alongside the client or remotely, whatever suits you & your systems the best.
